Women’s Sober Living in Katy, Texas: Finding Support for a New Beginning

Looking for women’s sober living in Katy, Texas, can feel overwhelming. Whether you are searching for yourself or someone you love, you want more than a place to stay. You want a safe home, people who care, and support for building a life in recovery.

Refuge Ministries is a Christ-centered residential recovery and discipleship home in Katy, serving women from Houston and surrounding communities. We walk alongside women seeking freedom from drug and alcohol addiction and healing from trauma, helping them build a foundation for lasting stability and independence.

What Should You Look for in a Women’s Sober Living Home?

Every home is different. When considering a program, ask about its expectations and the support available. Helpful questions include:

  • What does a typical day look like?

  • What recovery meetings and classes are required?

  • Can residents work, and when can they begin looking for employment?

  • What are the costs?

  • Is the program faith-based?

  • How does the home help residents prepare for independent living?

Understanding these details can help you find a home that fits your needs and goals.

A Christ-Centered Recovery Home in Katy

At Refuge Ministries, our sober living environment is part of a structured recovery and discipleship program. Faith, accountability, and community are central to life at Refuge House.

Residents participate in classes, recovery meetings, church, and weekly meetings with a sponsor. They also develop practical skills for managing finances, finding employment, building healthy relationships, and preparing for life beyond the program.

We believe women need time and support to heal. Our goal is to provide a place where they can grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ while taking meaningful steps toward recovery and independence.

No Rent for the First Six Months

Cost is an important consideration when searching for women’s sober living in Katy or Houston.

Residents at Refuge Ministries are not asked to pay rent during their first six months. This gives women time to focus on their well-being and recovery without the immediate pressure of paying rent.

Contact us to discuss current program costs and expectations beyond the first six months.

Three Phases of Recovery and Growth

Our program helps women move toward independence through three phases: Refuge, Restore, and Rise Up.

Refuge: Time to Begin Healing

The first phase is the most intensive. Women are asked not to work during this time so they can step out of survival mode and begin to heal.

Residents attend all Refuge Ministries classes, both on-site and off-site, along with recovery meetings and church. Meeting with a sponsor and completing stepwork are required every week. Residents also volunteer together as a house twice a month.

Restore: Building Skills and Setting Goals

During the second phase, residents continue attending classes, recovery meetings, and church while building greater responsibility and independence.

Women may begin looking for employment and continue meeting with their sponsor weekly. A goals coach helps each resident set attainable family, career, and financial goals and identify practical steps toward achieving them. Residents continue volunteering together twice a month.

Rise Up: Preparing for Independent Living

The final phase focuses on preparing for life beyond Refuge House. Residents continue strengthening their recovery, maintaining employment, managing their finances, and building healthy relationships and community support.

They attend all classes that do not conflict with their work schedules, meet with their sponsor weekly, and continue working with their goals coach. Women are encouraged to serve others, share their testimonies, grow as leaders, and make disciples.
